On December 2, the seventh test event of the Winter Universiade 2019, Cross-Country Skiing Russian Cup 1st stage ended at Raduga Cluster. The athletes competed for the medals in sprint held in classical technique with a separate start for women and men and in the men's and women's individual races.
Cross-country skiing competitions ended at Raduga Cluster that makes part of Winter Sports Academy. The sports complex conforms to the standards developed for hosting international and all-Russian competitions.
Raduga Cluster is a new sports venue built specifically for the Winter Universiade 2019. It incorporates three sports facilities designed for training and competitions: Raduga Cluster, Lyzhny Sports and Training Block and Start Complex with the Ski Stadium, roller skiing tracks with lighting and snowmaking systems developed in compliance with the International Ski Federation (FIS) requirements.
There are two main laps of 5 km for freestyle and classic style in the complex, which include tracks with distances of 3.75 km, 2.5 km, 1.5 km, and 1.3 km and allows for competitions in different disciplines depending on the competition type.
Cross-Country Skiing Russian Cup is held under the aegis of Cross Country Ski Federation of Russia. Previously Cross-Country Skiing Russian Cup 1st stage competitions were regularly hosted by Khakassia with the decision to organise the event in Krasnoyarsk made in 2017.
