Winter Universiade 2019 Flame torch handed over to Russian Bandy Federation
The Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation held the meeting with the Executive Committee of the Russian Bandy Federation which summarised the results of this season. The event culminated with the Winter Universiade 2019 Flame torch handed over to Boris Skrynnik, President of the Bandy Federation, by the Director General of ANO “Directorate Krasnoyarsk 2019” Maxim Urazov.
Maxim Urazov thanked senior management of the Federation for preparing the Russia bandy team excellently for the Winter Universiade Krasnoyarsk 2019, putting a special emphasis on the fact that it was the first time that this sport was included in the Universiade programme, "Russia men's bandy team took the gold in the first Universiade Bandy Tournament in history, getting ahead of their rivals from Sweden in the final match. We wish this momentous event would be kept in the memories of athletes and spectators forever. We hope that the Winter Universiade 2019 Flame torch will inspire our national team to new splendid victories."
In turn, Boris Skrynnik expressed gratitude to Maxim Urazov for their fruitful cooperation and inestimable contribution towards the development and popularization of bandy in Russia.
For the record, the bandy competitions at the Winter Universiade Krasnoyarsk 2019 among men resulted in the victory of the Russia team, with the silver medals won by Sweden and the bronze, by Norway. In the women's tournament, the Russia bandy team ended up second to Sweden, followed by Norway that took the bronze.
