World Championships and Youth Olympic Games prize winners hit the ice of Crystal Ice Arena

Participants of the World Junior Curling Championships continue to arrive in Krasnoyarsk. The competitions will take place from 15 to 22 February 2020 at Crystal Ice Arena. The national teams of Scotland, Japan, Germany, New Zealand, Canada and Switzerland have already arrived in Krasnoyarsk. A total of 15 countries will participate in the competitions.

The national teams include the winners and prize winners of 2020 Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne, the World Junior Curling Championships and prize winners of the World Championships.
 
Junior women’s team from Japan, Hungary, Republic of Korea, Norway, Canada, Sweden, Switzerland, Russia, Denmark and Latvia will compete for the title of the world champions.
 
The acknowledged favourites are representatives of Canada. They have won gold 12 times. In Liverpool in 2019, the national team of Canada was defeated by the Russian national team represented by Vlada Rumyantseva, Vera Tiulyakova, Irina Ryazanova and Anastasiya Mishchenko. Our junior women’s national team will compete to retain their title of the world champions.
 
Among the participants of the World Junior Curling Championships in Krasnoyarsk are Eirin Mesloe (Norway), bronze medallist of the World Championships 2019, Laura Nagy (Hungary), winner of the Youth Olympics and Selina Witschonke (Switzerland), bronze medallist of the World Junior Curling Championship 2019.
 
The men’s national teams are represented by the strongest players from Scotland, Canada, Sweden and Switzerland, namely Daniel Magnusson (Sweden), gold medallist of the World Championships and European Championships 2019, Jacques Gauthier (Canada), World Champion 2018, Yves Stocker and Marco Hoesli (Switzerland), silver medallist of the World Junior Curling Championship 2019, James Craik (Scotland), bronze medallist of the World Junior Curling Championship 2019. The Russian national team includes bronze medallists of the 3rd Winter Youth Olympic Games Nikolay Lysakov and Mikhail Vlasenko.
 
Curlers from New Zealand, Norway, Italy, Germany and USA will also compete in the forthcoming event in Krasnoyarsk.
