By tradition, the village of Sukhobuzimskoye will host the Siberian Maslenitsa festival of folk culture. There will be great festivities in the open-air format with the capture of a snow town, fun games and activities, old-time rites, a fair with a wide range of goods and pancake tasting. Siberian Maslenitsa will culminate in a theatrical reconstruction of the 18—19th century Siberian fun activity, the capture of a snow town inspired by Vasily Surikov’s famous painting. The large-scale action will take place under the leadership of the Cossacks. Afterwards, all participants and guests of the festival will merrily bid farewell to the long, dragged-out winter. The concert area will light up at the bright flame of the burnt effigy of Maslenitsa and people will twirl around in a mass khorovod circle dance.
