Type of works: new construction with full demolition of the existing building
Yenisei Ice Stadium is a special sports venue with a unique wooden arched structure under the ceiling, with the beam span reaching 99.9 m. It is the largest construction of its kind erected in Russia. The stadium itself was built back in 1971, and its previous renovation was carried out in 2001. During the preparation period of the Universiade, the stadium was nearly rebuilt from scratch. Yenisei Ice Stadium is intended for Bandy competitions.
Currently the total area of the building amounts to 29,210 sq. m, and the stands havea seating capacity of almost 5,000 spectators. Within the Winter Universiade 2019 Sports Programme, Yenisei Ice Stadium hosted the competitions of the men’s and women’s bandy tournaments. It was the first time thissport was included in the list of the Winter Universiade sports.
